History of Hair!

-Because I've got to keep track somehow!
Hey everyone,
Thought I should get into the habit of posting! So here's a little bit of history about my hair in this past year. I hope you like it!

February 2011
When I first died it, it was really high up, so I looked like  I had a little black bob.

It's weird seeing me with such light hair! Seeing as my hair is BLACK!
I'm quite fond of the blonde, to be honest!

Dark Magenta!
April:
Thulian Pink?

Testing out, because I'm a cautious broad!
May:
"Forest Green" - Manic Panic

July:
So bright! I think this was a mixture of mostly La Riche colours. As well as atomic  turquoise <3
September:

So now it's a little faded as I have been too lazy to apply much effort it to dying it pretty and colourful again! I'm thinking I need to re-bleach as it keeps growing out, and getting trimmed off :c
You'd be surprised how many comments I get on my hair any day I leave the house. It's really nice actually :3

Who doesn't have a girl crush on Kimbra?

I have such a girl crush on this lass! And to think she's only a year older than me! Jealous of what she has done so far! It's about time I found some amazing girl tunes- always with the boys in my music library! Her style and clothes also make me rage with jealousy. I mean, c'mon look at those little yellow pom poms!

Dirty Arial

Last semester we had a really awesome class- projects had to get done quick, they didn't drag out, and they were actually based on things people like me might be interested in doing! Unfortunately, we couldn't have that teacher this semester again, so sad!

Anyway, basically we all had to alter Arial. It was really fun and was interesting to see 12 different people doing the exact same project, and how varying the results were.

Design Debauchery: Annual Report

This is an assignment from earlier I did this year for my graphic design course, the brief was to create an annual report for a traveling art class company around Australia called Flying Arts.

By featuring robins endemic to the Queensland region,  where the company is based, I think it involves the community as something personal. With a grungy, paint-like aesthetic and combining art utensils in the birds' environment it involves the creativeness of what the company aims to be about and also is quite different to most things you would find, especially in an annual report. Which is something you want for an annual report, not to be bored out of your mind when reading it.

I used two bold colours that really stand out yet also complement each other. I'm a fan of white space and I really embraced it in this design and I think that, teamed with the simplicity of the typography balance quite well with the detailed feature pictures.

Awesome Advertising

Just some interesting images I came across while researching for an advertising assignment.

There's nothing I like better than mixing old with the new!
Unless it's mixing pretty with undignified...
A really effective ad, grabs your attention and affects your emotions.
Playing on a logo for humor and brand recognition is clever.

Lovely Ladies

Random illustrations of beautiful ladies :) Each of these images really inspire me and make me strive to work harder at creating my own art. I find it really hard to get motivated ever. And I need new materials and media damnit!

This style of drawing women really fascinates me, they look kind of innocent but at the same time powerful. I guess it's just their female sensuality? They're all pouty lip faced, but you can tell in their eyes they mean business and they'll take no beef! (Except for the girl in the pond, she's kinda mid-drown there).
